The next day was Saturday and Kate was off of work so she got a chance to sleep in late. I had a surprise for her today. When she finally woke up, she got in the shower and I immediately told her to get dressed because we were going somewhere. Kate perked up at the mention of going somewhere and quickly got dressed. I didn’t tell her anything; I just got on the highway and drove straight to New York, nonstop. Kate thought we were going just to pick up some weed and that was it, but after we picked up the weed we went to my buddy’s apartment. He goes by the name of G and I’d known him for years. We smoked a blunt with him while he made Kate and I laughed ecstatically. G was a funny motherfucker and he would have anybody dying laughing in no time. Just don’t fuck with him because he don’t fight; he shoots to kill. I was just glad he was still around because most of the people we grew with were actually in jail, dead or on their way to jail.

My visit was short because I wanted to take Kate somewhere. I took her to one of my favorite clothing shops with all the latest name brand clothing and shoes. Kate went nuts in there and almost spent ten thousand dollars, but I didn’t mind. She opened up her home, car and wallet to me so this was nothing. We went in a few more shops together and bought some more clothes. I was broke from the trip and Kate knew it and tried to give me some money that I spent on her back, but I refused that and wouldn’t hear any more from her. I think that earned me a few more points in her book because when I looked at her I could have sworn that she was blushing. I swear after that day with Kate, my stock went up sky high with her.
